new Bourne Legacy video

Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz star in the latest video clip from The Bourne Legacy.

Following the footage released yesterday, the new snippet shows Aaron Cross (Renner) going on the run with scientist ally Rachel Weisz atop a motorcycle.

The latest instalment's plot centres on a government task force led by Ed Norton, who are assassinating all their genetically-modified agents - including Cross - in order to prevent a repetition of what happened with Bourne (Matt Damon).

Long-time Bourne scribe Tony Gilroy is helming Legacy, with Oscar Isaac, David Strathairn, Albert Finney and Stacy Keach also starring.

It has been rumoured that the next Bourne film could star both Renner and Damon.

Lego The Wire

It's The Wire, but as you've never seen it before. "Giving a brick when it's not your turn to give a brick."

The critically-acclaimed cable series, which ran from 2002 to 2008, has been switched from inner-city Baltimore to Bricktamore and drug dealer Avon Barkdale has been renamed Avon Blocksdale.

Numerous classic Wire scenes and references are used in the toy remake and it pokes fun at the work of stars such as Aidan Gillen and Wendell Pierce, who have gone on to work on fellow HBO shows Game of Thrones and Treme respectively.

Previously, Funny or Die released a spoof musical of David Simon's classic drama series, featuring cameos from original cast members.

Simon described the musical clip, which picked up 100,000 views online in hours, as "hilarious".

Spartacus Game And Thor 2

Mads Mikkelsen will not appear in Thor 2.

Previously rumoured for the role of the Marvel Studios movie's villain, the actor will not be able to join the cast due to his commitments to NBC's new Hannibal television show.

"That's not happening, unfortunately," Mikkelsen told Zoomin Movies regarding the comic-book sequel. "I had a meeting with them, but it was too late, and then Hannibal came up. And it films during the same period, so…"

The Danish actor will play Hannibal Lecter in Bryan Fuller's upcoming show.

Also Spartacus Legends has been announced by Ubisoft.

Based on the US television series Spartacus, the fighting game will release on consoles during the early stages of 2013.

Featuring characters from the show, as well as the voice and likeness of Liam McIntyre, the game sees players strive to become a gladiatorial legend by training inside the ludus and fighting in the arena.

The game will contain deep customisation options, allowing users to choose from thousands of weapon combinations and skill perks in order to create their own gladiator.

Alternatively, players can pick the likes of Spartacus and Crixus to do battle in local or online multiplayer modes.

'Assassin's Creed' movie

Michael Fassbender will star in and produce a movie based on Ubisoft's hit video game series Assassin's Creed.

The games' storyline follows a bartender who learns that he is a descendant of famous assassins after being kidnapped by the Knights Templar. The action takes place during the Crusades and Renaissance.

Shame star Fassbender will co-produce the movie project with his DMC Film partner Conor McCaughan and Ubisoft Motion Pictures, reports Variety.

"Michael Fassbender was our first choice," said UMP CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet. "Michael is an extremely smart, talented, versatile and committed actor."

Assassin's Creed was previously being developed as a feature film by Sony Pictures, but work was put on hold. The project will now be developed independently by UMP, who will attach its own writer and director and seek out a production and distribution partner at a later date.

"We're open to re-discuss with the key studios once the production package is finalised," Baronnet said. "Whatever the financial model, UMP will limit its risk investment."

Bring back firefly

I do not know how many of you have heard about this but recently Nathan Fillion was interviewed and he stated "If I got $300 million from the California Lottery, the first thing I would do is buy the rights to Firefly, make it on my own, and distribute it on the Internet." This has spawned a frenzy across the net and has lead to this website to try and make this a reality. Many of the former writers of the show have said that they would drop what they were doing to work on Firefly once more. Jewel Staite when asked on twitter if she would want to be a part of a Firefly revival responded simply by saying, "Is the pope catholic?".
I figured this would be a great bit of news to bring here in case you had not already heard of this. If you would like more information on this uprising, you can read articles here and here.
Obviously Nathan's comment was just an offhand saying but with this much a stir now, the chances of success are better than ever before.
